batampos – Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport is ready to change the form of service to prospective aircraft passengers, one of which is the check-in room.

So far, the check-in room can only be entered by departing passengers and one delivery person each. However, at this time, introductions can enter the check-in room.

The Managing Director of PT Batam International Airport (BIB), Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah said, so far he has seen airports in other areas, allowing introductions to enter the check-in room.

According to him, this room is still classified as a public space. For example Kuala Namu International Airport, Sultan Syarif Kasim Pekan Baru International Airport, and others.

“The check-in room is still a public space. So it’s not a private place,” said Pikri, some time ago.

Meanwhile, because the check-in space at Hang Nadim International Airport is limited, his party urges passengers to continue to use online check-in. To avoid long lines at the check-in counter.

Interestingly, passengers who check-in via online, will get 2 kilograms of free baggage. Plus 20 kilograms of baggage from the airline, so the total is free 22 kilograms of baggage.

Terminal 1 of Hang Nadim International Airport will be renovated in the next 12 months. Although there will be renovation work at terminal one, it will not interfere with operational processes at the airport.

“As long as the renovation process continues as usual, it will be carried out partially, gradually, without disrupting operations,” he said.

So what about terminal 2? PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB) has completed the tender process for the construction of terminal two and the renovation of terminal one of Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport.

He admits physically, Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport will change completely. But that won’t change the structure.

“So we changed the look, image. Including the interior, we will change everything,” he said

Since Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport was organized by PT BIB, several changes have been made. Starting from the service, officer uniforms, several other physical forms.

“Services are improved, if we see that there have been many changes, apart from our human resources we conduct training, we make changes to uniforms, the lights are also brighter, increasing from 130 lux to 250 lux,” he said.

In addition, according to him, with this new management, Hang Nadim Airport looks more and more presentable.

“The taxi queue is very orderly, no one has to wait long. We have arranged the pick-up and pick-up routes even more neatly,” he said.(*)
