Christopher Nkunku Reportedly Agrees to Join Chelsea Next Season Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea after undergoing a secret medical with the Blues last month.

The Frenchman, who can operate as a striker, is Chelsea’s main transfer target, although the Blues spent £272m in the summer having signed the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana. .

According to Athletic’s report on Monday, Nkunku is expected to join Stamford Bridge next season. Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly, has redeemed the player’s release clause of 53 million pounds (Rp 911 billion).

The 24-year-old put in an outstanding performance last season as he scored 35 goals and provided 20 assists in 52 appearances for Leipzig and won the Bundesliga Player of the Year award.

Nkunku’s performance saw Leipzig extend his contract until 2026 and included a release clause of 53 million pounds which Chelsea have now paid.
