batampos -Prof. Zubairi Djoerban, SpPD KHOM urges COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms to continue to consult a doctor.

The Advisory Council of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) COVID-19 Task Force said that currently most cases of COVID-19 have mild symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing to hoarseness. This mild symptom is eventually ignored by some people, because they believe it will heal by itself.

“Because they don’t feel just a hoarse voice or cough, runny nose, sneezing, most people feel it will be fine on its own. Even though there are those who still need medicine,” said Prof Zubairi in an online media discussion in Jakarta, Thursday (1/9).

According to Prof Zubairi, some COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms still need drugs such as Favipiravir, antibiotics, fever-reducing and several other drugs.

Furthermore, Prof Zubairi said that the thing to pay attention to when suffering from COVID-19 is to always check vital signs such as measuring oxygen saturation, blood pressure and pulse rate.

“This disease must know oxygen saturation. If it drops to 94, you should go to a hospital emergency room immediately as it is potentially dangerous. Then for example cough, fever, no pneumonia, sometimes there are patients who need to be wary of,” he said.

Prof. Zubairi emphasized that basically every disease must consult a doctor. If the pain is mild and you want to self-medicate, never ignore the symptoms that appear.

Some patients who feel mild pain, it turns out that not a few require hospitalization, intravenous drugs, vitamin injections to antiviral drugs.

“Two days have not improved, so it is necessary to consult a doctor, it is very necessary. If the pain is rather severe, just consult a doctor, the doctor can face to face or telemedicine, “said Prof Zubairi.

“We are more careful in dealing with health and immediately consult a doctor,” he continued. (*)
