JABARNEWS | BANDUNG – The suspect in the Qoutex investment fraud case, Doni Salmanan, was sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion. He was found guilty of spreading false information which caused members to suffer losses of up to IDR 24 billion.
“Imposed a sentence on the defendant with a prison sentence of 4 years and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, provided that if the prison sentence is not paid, the prison sentence is replaced by 6 months,” said the Chief Judge of Bale Bandung District Court, Achmad Satibi when reading the verdict, Thursday (15/12) /2022).
“Declaring that Doni Muhammad Taufik alias Doni Salmanan has been found guilty of committing the crime of spreading false and misleading news which resulted in losses as in the first charge,” he said.
Satibi further said that some of the evidence numbers 1 to 131 were returned to the defendant and numbers 132 and above were partially confiscated by the state. In addition, the term of detention and detention of the accused was reduced from the stipulated sentence.
However, the public prosecutor’s charges against the defendant regarding the crime of money laundering were not proven. Therefore the defendant was acquitted of charges and demands for restitution could not be granted.
