JawaPos.com – The Golkar Party has just received a visit from a number of political party elites, since early February 2023. The NasDem Party became the first political party to visit the Golkar Party DPP last Wednesday. (1/2).
Nasdem-Golkar meetings are chaired directly by the chairmen of each party. After Nasdem, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) became the second party to visit the Golkar DPP office on Jalan Anggrek Neli, West Jakarta, Tuesday (7/2). Then, today it was the turn of the National Awakening Party (PKB) to meet with Golkar in the Senayan area on Friday (10/2).
The executive director of Poltracking Indonesia, Hanta Yuda, doubted the series of meetings between Golkar and a number of parties to invite the banyan party to join the Nasdem, PKS, or PKB coalition. This is because the three political parties that met with Golkar already have their own coalitions.
According to him, the visit of other political parties to Golkar is more because the party led by Airlangga Hartarto has a magnetic closeness to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“We know that Golkar is a party that is very close to Pak Jokowi. Even though we want to be honest in a number of ways, we surpass the PDIP, and become the main supporter of Pak Jokowi after the PDI Perjuangan,” Hanta Yuda emphasized, Friday (10/2).
Hanta doubts that Golkar will be interested and join a coalition built by another party. The reason is, Golkar has initiated the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with PAN and PPP.
“If the Coalition for Change succeeds in inviting Golkar, I doubt it. They already have Pak Airlangga (as a presidential candidate),” said Hanta Yuda.
He believes that the closeness between Golkar and President Jokowi has made it impossible for Golkar to have a meeting with the Coalition for Change which has agreed to nominate Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate.
“I think it’s a bit difficult on the one hand we see Pak Jokowi and Mas Anies being considered the antithesis of Pak Jokowi. In fact, Golkar is quite close to Pak Jokowi,” concluded Hanta Yuda.
