Hasbullah Rahmad Encourages Provision of Incentives for Regions that Consistently Maintain Areas of Food Agriculture

JABARNEWS | BANDUNG – A member of the West Java DPRD from the PAN faction, Hasbullah Rahmad, encourages the provision of incentives for districts and cities in West Java that consistently maintain Sustainable Food Agricultural Areas or KP2B.

Incentives given can be in the form of financial assistance or bankeu from the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java.

“I recommend or rather encourage the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil so that the West Java Provincial Government has the courage to provide incentives for districts and cities that are consistently able to maintain land according to the RTRW Regional Regulation or are able to maintain Sustainable Food Agriculture. Regions,” said Hasbullah Rahmad, Bandung, Friday, November 4, 2022.

According to Hasbullah Rahmad, the provision of these incentives can encourage regencies and cities to maintain Sustainable Food Agriculture Areas, and avoid the massive land conversion that is currently happening.

Just imagine, currently many food-agricultural areas have turned into industrial areas, because they are more productive, more profitable.

“Indeed, industrial land will generate a lot of income for the region, but it has an impact on reducing food land which leads to a food crisis,” he said.

Unlike food land, it can only be obtained from harvesting. So that incentives are considered as the right solution to avoid land conversion whose conditions are very worrying.

“Take the example of Kuningan Regency, we set the area partly for water sources, irrigation, food fields. But no incentives are given, over time the land will run out because it is considered less profitable,” he said.***
