This was confirmed by the general chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Board (PBNU), Yahya Cholil Staquf. He emphasized that PBNU gave freedom to Islamic boarding schools to receive visits or sowan from figures fighting for the 2024 presidential election.

However, these political activities do not necessarily bring the name NU. “The point is not in the name of NU. Everyone has political rights, not in the name of NU,” said Gus Yahya, on the sidelines of attending the One Century NU Coordination Meeting in Surabaya. , Tuesday (15/11).

Gus Yahya emphasized that NU would be neutral during the 2024 general election and presidential election. So that every political decision would be left to each individual.

“There is no presidential candidate on behalf of NU, there is none,” he said firmly.
