Joining NU’s Healthy Walk, Jokowi: Healthy People, Strong Country

batampos – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by his wife Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo took a healthy walk to welcome the 1st century anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) which was held in Surakarta City, Central Java Province, Sunday (22/ 1). According to him, healthy walking activities will make Nahdliyin residents healthy

“This joint health walk will make Nahdliyin members healthy, but also the whole community,” Jokowi said.

The head of state appreciates the activities carried out by NU in commemorating the 1st century NU anniversary. Jokowi hopes that these activities can improve the health of all Indonesian people and make Indonesia a strong country

“The people of a healthy country are strong,” Jokowi said

Jokowi also said that NU had contributed a lot to the progress of the country.

“I think everyone doesn’t know what a big contribution is, they already know everything,” Jokowi said

Meanwhile, the general chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Board (PBNU) K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf in his speech invited all NU members and Indonesian people to participate in welcoming the first century of NU. He said the presence of Indonesian leaders along with Nahdliyin residents added enthusiasm to continue to protect and care for the nation and state of Indonesia.

“Today our leaders are here to help us, so we will never go far and continue to accompany our leaders. Caring for Indonesia, protecting Indonesia, maintaining the safety of the nation and state, fighting for the future benefit of the nation and state,” said Yahya.

“God willing, with blessings from the founders of Nahdlatul Ulama, blessings from riyadoh, the scholars for 100 years, God willing, our future will be more brilliant,” he said. (*)
