Saudi Arabia produced one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history with a 2-1 comeback win over Argentina.

It was Argentina’s worst ever defeat as they are one game away from equaling Italy’s all-time unbeaten record of 37 games.

Forward Lautaro Martinez said the defeat hurt a lot.

“Obviously we lost because of our own mistakes, especially in the second half,” said Martinez

“In the first half, we should have scored more than one goal. But that’s the World Cup. Now we have to take a break and think about what lies ahead. Now those two games feel like two finals.”

Lionel Scaloni’s side could have won this game had the other three goals not been disallowed for offside.

World number 51 Saudi Arabia equalized early in the second half through Saleh Al-Shehri.

Five minutes later the Green Falcons took the lead when Salem Al-Dawsari fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

Argentina then locked down the Saudis but Saudi goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais did brilliantly to stop Argentina from scoring. (*)
