No. 30 in the World from Indonesia, Malaysia’s No. 2 Succeeding occurred in the mixed doubles world number 30 from Indonesia Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati at the French Open 2022.

In the Super 750 level tournament, Rehan/Lisa defeated Malaysia’s number two mixed doubles Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai in a straight game with a score of 21-14 and 21-10.

Rehan/Lisa finished the game in 31 minutes.

“I’m very happy to win this match, especially since I lost at the Japan Open against them,” said Rehan as quoted from PP PBSI’s press release.

“More than the Denmark Open, we lost too. We are determined to focus on this tournament. In this match, we already know the opponent’s weakness. We tried to play patiently in attack. Because the opponent has a very good variety of attacks,” added Rehan

At Denmark Open 2022, Rehan/Lisa already lost in the first round. They lost to Chinese mainstay Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong in two consecutive games with a score of 11-21 and 11-21.

At the Japan Open 2022, Rehan/Lisa were defeated by Goh/Shevon in the first round. They ran aground in the rubber game 22-20, 19-21, and 12-21. So today’s victory is sweet revenge.

In the second game, Rehan/Lisa dominate. They were leading 8-1 and without any trouble closing the game with a score of 21-10.

“Our best game so far is coming out. Communication in the field is also smooth,” said Lisa.

In the round of 16, Rehan/Lisa will face Singaporean doubles Terry Hee/Jessica Tan. In the first round, Terry/Jessica eliminated the French mixed doubles William Villeger/Anne Tran in the game twice in a row, 21-14 and 21-12.

“Preparation for the next match, we already know the opponent’s strength, we will focus on communication on the pitch,” said Rehan.
