“MSAT is already at the East Java Police and was immediately detained,” said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the East Java Police, Kombes Pol. Dirmanto at the local Police Headquarters, Friday (8/7) early morning.

The mid-level police with three jasmine flowers on his shoulders said the East Java Police would also coordinate with the local High Court regarding the technical handover of the suspect.

Furthermore, Dirmanto revealed that the MSAT case would be released on Friday morning. However, he was reluctant to confirm what time the MSAT would be examined at the Ditreskrimum Polda East Java.

“Guys, please be patient, it won’t be releasing tonight. We will release tomorrow morning, so please be patient,” he said

After turning himself in to the police, it was discovered that the MSAT suspect was placed in the Class I Rutan Surabaya Medaeng Sidoarjo temporarily awaiting further proceedings.

Previously, the East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta stated that the MSAT suspect surrendered on Thursday (7/7) at 23:35 WIB and previously MSAT was known to be in the vicinity of the Islamic boarding school.

“Today since 08.00 am we have communicated with the parents and finally the person concerned gave himself up. We thank all parties,” said Inspector General Nico in Jombang, Thursday night.

The police chief explained that the MSAT suspect file in the case of student sexual abuse had been declared complete by the East Java High Court in January 2022.

Inspector General Nico said that after the files were declared complete or P21, his party was obliged to hand over the suspect and MSAT evidence to the prosecutor’s office.

“The process is carried out by prioritizing preemptiveness so that MSAT can submit itself to be revoked (phase two submission),” said the senior official who once served as the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief.

The arrest of MSAT was very tough, although several times an agreement was reached, but the suspect denied it. (*)
