batampos- Seven houses in Dompak Indah Housing Complex, Jalan Naga were badly damaged by a tornado that occurred at around 09.30 WIB.
It was noted that the roofs of the seven houses were damaged, some of the tin roofs collapsed to the ground and some have shifted from their original position.
Secretary of the Tanjungpinang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Andika Oktorananda said that on the same day his party received a number of reports from the public regarding the strong wind incident on Wednesday (20/7) morning.

Just as a tree fell on Jalan Sumatra and near the Tanjungpinang Barat sub-district office, at the same time a tree fell near SDN Bukit Semprong.
“At the same time there was a tornado that hit the Dopak Indah housing complex,” said Andika, at the scene, Wednesday (20/7).
After being recorded, continued Andika, there were 7 houses damaged by the incident. The condition of the damaged house is considered quite severe because the roof of the house is short from its installation position.
“It happened at the same time when it was raining around 09.30,” he said.
Furthermore, damaged houses will be recorded further and assistance will be provided according to budget capabilities, as budget availability is also limited in recent years.
“Later on, the assistance will be adjusted to the needs and distributed by the relevant agencies,” he said. (*)
