Mojokerto Regent Asks NU Fatayat Women to Plant Rosemary and Lemongrass

Mojokerto (beritajatim.com) – Mojokerto Regent Ikfina Fahmawati requested that plants that mosquitoes don't like, rosemary and lemongrass can be planted. This was conveyed during joint exercise, planting tree seedlings at Kenduri Ketupat with the women of Fatayat NU, Mojokerto Regency. The activity in the courtyard of the Mojokerto Regency Nadhatul Ulama Branch Management Office (PCNU) was in the context of the 74th Fatayat NU Birthday (Harlah).

Harlah Fatayat NU with the theme 'Fatayat Think Green' was attended by Fatayat cadres throughout Mojokerto Regency. The 74th Harlah Fatayat NU celebration activity is also a momentum for real contributions to encourage awareness of the importance of environmental conservation and strengthen ties among its members.

In her speech, the first female Regent in Mojokerto Regency asked the Fatayat NU cadres of Mojokerto Regency to be committed and always be aware of protecting the environment on Indonesian soil. This is in accordance with the theme raised at the 74th NU Harlah Fatayat moment in 2024.

"I ask for your help in preserving our earth with the plants planted and maintained by all of you. Let's work together by planting oxygen to give alms. Because the green plants we plant will produce oxygen throughout the day. And I ask you to continue taking care of him," he said, Sunday (21/4/2024).

The number one person in the Regency Government (Mojokerto Regency Government) also reminded that currently Mojokerto Regency is facing a dengue fever endemic. The Regent asked Fatayat NU cadres to clean water reservoirs repeatedly so that they do not become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

"So during Eid our dengue fever numbers went up. Why? Because there is a lot of mobility of people going in and out of Mojokerto, they are vulnerable to contracting dengue fever and causing cases to rise. "I ask for help, plants that mosquitoes don't like, rosemary and lemongrass can be planted around us to ward off mosquitoes because mosquitoes don't like the smell," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of PC Fatayat NU Mojokerto Regency, Rahmi Mubarokah, revealed that this activity had a deep meaning for his organization. "So 'Fatayat Think Green' is not just a celebration. "But it is also a commitment to care for the environment and build awareness of the importance of protecting our earth," he stressed. [tin/but]
