Purwakarta Regency Government Targets Production of 111,234 Tons of Dry Grain

JABARNEWS | PURWAKARTA – Head of the Purwakarta Food and Agriculture Service (DPP) Sri Jaya Midan said that his party is targeting rice production in the first rendeng planting season this year to reach 111,234 tonnes of milled dry unhulled grain.

He said that the projected target for rice production this year will be produced from a rice field area of ​​17,970 hectares spread across 17 sub-districts throughout Purwakarta.

The rice field area is much wider than the previous year's planting season which reached 14,316 hectares.

"The production target has increased, much higher than the production during last year's rendang planting period, which reached 101,071 tons of dry milled grain," said Sri in Purwakarta, Friday (8/4/2024).

According to him, with a wider rice field area, it is hoped that this year's rice production capacity will be higher. This step can be taken to ensure food availability for the community.

"We also hope that with a larger production capacity, we can balance the price of food, so that it can be reached by the public," he explained.

Rendeng planting season is the main planting season from November, December, January, February to March.

Rendeng planting season usually coincides with the stable rainy season, so that the water supply for the rice fields is sufficient. (Ed)
