Three presidential and vice presidential candidates compete to distribute votes outside Java

batampos – Even though the majority of voters are on the island of Java, the election battles outside Java are still fierce. Because, to win one round of the presidential election, it is not enough just to get more than 50 percent of the vote. There are also conditions for the distribution of supporting votes.

In accordance with Article 6A of the 1945 Constitution, candidate pairs are also required to win a minimum of 20 percent of the votes in half of the provinces in Indonesia.

Because there are 38 provinces, this means that the minimum vote share of 20 percent must be in 20 provinces.

Spokesman for the winning National Team (Timnas) Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Amin) Iwan Tarigan is optimistic that Amin will win today. He claimed, according to the results of several credible surveys, Amin could gain around 40 percent of the national vote. "In Java and outside Java, we are optimistic (of winning, ed)," he said yesterday (13/2).

Anies Baswedan expressed similar beliefs. He said that from the start his party was optimistic that they would win the presidential election. Even though a number of survey institutions often place it in second or third place, Anies doesn't really question it. "I'm always asked (surveys, ed.) number three, number three, it's okay, we'll see," he stressed.

Anies also invited all parties to flock to guard and monitor the counting at polling stations (TPS). "The process at the TPS is an open process, which is kept secret only in the voting booth. "You can monitor outside the voting booth," he said.

Meanwhile, the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team (TKN) is also optimistic that it can dominate the vote tally outside Java. Deputy Chairman of TKN Prabowo-Gibran Afriansyah Noor claimed that candidate pair number 2 would wipe out the majority of provinces outside Java. "God willing, we will win all of them outside Java," he said when contacted.

The exception, continued the man who is usually called Ferry, is only in the provinces of Aceh and West Sumatra. He admitted that these two provinces were quite tough for candidate pair number 2 to win. "We can't confirm that it will be Aceh and West Sumatra," he added. However, even if these two provinces lose, TKN believes they can still be compensated by wins in other provinces. This is because TKN's internal data shows that the majority of provinces will win. "So, God willing, it will be above 50 percent," said the figure who served as Deputy Minister of Manpower.

When asked about the strategy to maintain votes, Ferry emphasized that this had been anticipated. He said, TKN has large human resources. Starting from party members, volunteers, to other wing organs. "It is our responsibility to look after it," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD is also optimistic that they will win the majority of votes outside Java. There are a number of regions that are the basis of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP), which is the main party supporting candidate number 3. In Bali, for example, he is confident that Ganjar-Mahfud will win the most votes. Because Bali is PDIP's base.

According to Sunanto, TPN spokesperson Ganjar-Mahfud, former Bali Governor I Wayan Koster is a PDIP cadre. So, he believes that PDIP's influence will not be rivaled by other parties. "We are sure that Ganjar-Mahfud will win absolutely in Bali," said the man who is familiarly called Cak Nanto. (*)
