Real Madrid's chances of recruiting Kylian Mbappe are getting stronger

Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – La Liga President, Javier Tebas, discussed Real Madrid's chances of recruiting Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023-24 season. Mbappe's contract with PSG expires at the end of June, and widespread reports claim that he has decided to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Tebas previously stated that Los Blancos have around a 50% chance of signing the French international this summer. However, the La Liga president now claims that this number continues to increase.

“I said about 50% a few weeks ago, now it's even more… 55/60% chance? Yes, I think so," Tebas told transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. “Every day that passes and Mbappe does not sign a new contract with PSG, the percentage increases.”

Mbappe has allegedly not informed PSG officially that he wants to leave. There are still several complicated issues that must be resolved before his move to Real Madrid can be announced.

The 25-year-old reportedly wants €50m (£43m) a year to move to Los Blancos, while he is also asking for a signing bonus of €120m (£102.3m).

Mbappe has been in excellent form for PSG during the 2023-24 season, scoring 30 goals and registering seven assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.

Tebas said that Real Madrid's excellent financial situation would put them in a strong position to improve their squad this summer. Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies is also said to be a target.

“Alphonso Davies and more? I don't know the cost of the Mbappe deal but in any case, Real have a very good financial situation. They haven't done anything crazy in the last few years," he added.

Lille's Mbappe, Davies and Leny Yoro are believed to be the club's main targets this summer. Yoro, 18, has also been linked with Manchester United, with Real Madrid determined to get his signature.

Real Madrid will also make an exit this summer, with decisions to be made on Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez, whose contract expires at the end of June.

Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Joselu, who are on loan at Chelsea and Espanyol, will return to their respective clubs. Joselu could be contracted permanently. (ian)
