After a liquor party, a young man in Kediri dies by drowning in a reservoir

Kediri (beritajatim.com) – With the initials FS (22), a young man from Recoputul Hamlet, Gayam Village, Gurah District, Kediri Regency was found drowned in the Siman Reservoir, Kepung District, Kediri Regency, on Tuesday (16/4/2024). The victim fell in the reservoir on Monday (15/4/2024), reportedly after a drinking party with EW, his older brother.

Kadiri Penmas Police Chief Inspector Anang Isandy confirmed the incident. According to him, the victim's body had been evacuated from the Siman Reservoir for an autopsy to the hospital.

"The victim and his brother came to the SIman Reservoir, on Monday afternoon at around 12.00 WIB," said Inspector Anang Isandy.

Near the reservoir, the brothers had a drinking party. They consume Jowo wine.

While he was drunk, the victim suddenly fell into the reservoir. The older brother tried to help, but to no avail. So the victim was then swept away in the reservoir.

EW then went home to tell his family. Next, the family had time to search for the whereabouts of the victim. But their efforts did not bear fruit.

The day after, on Selaa (16/4/2024) they again carried out a search at the Siman Reservoir. Finally the victim's body was found, at 13.20 WIB.

Inspector Anang confirmed that there were no signs of abuse on the victim's body. And the victim died due to drowning. [nm/ian]
