Helping Food Security, YBM PLN Distributes Basic Food Packages in West Java

JABARNEWS | BANDUNG – Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM) PLN Main Unit for Central Java Development (PLN UIP JBT) distributed basic food packages to the Orphan and Duafa Tahfidz Islamic Boarding Schools spread across the Bandung, Cimahi, Cirebon and Cianjur areas which are YBM's fostered institutions PLN UIP JBT.

Basic food packages in the form of 88 packages of rice, 55 packages of instant noodles, 33 packages of dates, and cash were given as an embodiment of the Food Security Distribution Program.

This program has become a routine activity of YBM PLN UIP JBT which is carried out every month. There are 11 institutions that are being assisted by YBM PLN UIP JBT for 2024, including the Tahfidz Qur'an Home for Disabled Mata Titian Bangsa, the Lentera Dream Ngamprah Foundation, the Tahfidz Baiti Jannati Islamic Boarding School, the Mutiara Bani Solihin Orphanage.

Then the Nurul Falah Foundation, Baitul Arief Orphanage, Al-Mu'minun Islamic Boarding School, Bani Salam Orphanage, Malikul A'la Orphanage, Al Ikhlas Orphanage Islamic Boarding School, Raudhatul Qur'an Orphanage Islamic Boarding School.< /p>

Chairman of YBM PLN UIP JBT, Asep Asikin, hopes that the aid distributed can ease the burden on the beneficiary brothers and sisters, encourage the enthusiasm of the students to continue studying both at the Islamic boarding school and at school, and also motivate the students to continue to be enthusiastic about learning and memorizing Al-Qur'an.

Asep also hopes that all efforts and all programs can be a blessing for all people.

"The smiles of happiness from our brothers and sisters, the beneficiaries, are always our enthusiasm in continuing to strive so that the YBM PLN UIP JBT programs continue to run consistently, sustainably and sustainably. PLH General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) UIP Central Java, Senior Manager of Construction Operations I, Kunto Nugroho, said that this activity was consistently carried out as a form of concern for fellow believers.

"Thank God, we can continue to be consistent in distributing aid to our underprivileged brothers and sisters. "We are sure that our fellow employees will feel happy to be able to actively participate in helping reduce the burden on others, as a form of service for all of us to our fellow believers," he said.

Kunto added that PLN employees' income as muzakki is automatically deducted by 2.5% every month as income zakat and becomes a source of funds for PLN YBM activities.

The number of these assisted institutions continues to increase along with the journey of each of these institutions starting from receiving routine monthly assistance to being able to become independent later after receiving assistance from YBM PLN UIP JBT in discovering and developing their potential to improve welfare for the daily needs of their students and also strengthening the institution.

Since it was formed in 2006, YBM PLN has consistently carried out its function as a zakat amil institution within PLN to spread as many benefits as possible through real programs in 5 main pillars and help realize the goals of global and Indonesian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely Empowerment, Social Humanity, Health, Education, and Da'wah.
