Mayor of Batam M Rudi is widely known as a leader who cares about mosques

batampos– The slanted issue reported by one of the online media regarding the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi, who wanted to tear down the mosque, received a response from the Head of the Batam City Communications Service (Diskominfo), Rudi Panjaitan, Saturday (23/3/2024).

"There is one online media on their website who wrote that the Mayor of Batam wants to tear down the mosque, in fact the current Mayor of Batam is a leader who cares about mosques," said the Head of the Batam City Communication and Information Office.

He said that during the era of the Mayor of Batam, a number of mosques were built. Not only building mosques, mosque imams also receive incentives based on the Mayor's policies.

"He (Mayor of Batam) really cares and wants the mosque to prosper and the congregation to be comfortable when worshiping at the mosque," he said.

With the Mayor's current concern, he regrets that there are still parties who spread misinformation regarding the Mayor of Batam's policy regarding places of worship.

"The Mayor of Batam even encouraged mosque land to be managed legally for the benefit of the congregation or people who use the mosque," he said.

On several occasions, the Mayor of Batam, Muhammad Rudi, pushed for the legality of mosque land in Batam. This follows up on the many aspirations of mosque administrators regarding the legality of the land for the place of worship.

Several complaints regarding the legality of this land were conveyed by the mosque management to the Mayor of Batam in several locations during the Ramadan 1445 Hijriah Safari.

"Many places of worship have been taken care of so that the congregation can worship comfortably," said Rudi.

One of these aspirations came from the administrators of the Al Hikmah Baloi Health Mosque, Baloi Indah Village, and several other mosques. Rudi, who is also the Head of the Batam Enterprise Agency (BP), asked the local mosque administrators to come directly to the BP Batam Office.

"BP Batam already has land data, so we can know whose land the mosque belongs to," he said.

Regarding this report, the Mayor of Batam actually conveyed how all parties care about helping and facilitating mosques that do not yet have legality so that they can immediately obtain legality in accordance with applicable regulations, he said regarding the misquoted news. (*)
