Tofu Factory in Magetan Burns Down During Production, Losses IDR 50 Million

Magetan (beritajatim.com) – The factory producing tofu in Kauman Village, Karangrejo District, Magetan Regency, East Java caught fire on Sunday (24/3/2024). There were no casualties in the incident, but losses are estimated at IDR 50 million.

The fire occurred at around 21.07 WIB. The fire is thought to have come from a fire that was too big while cooking the tofu and then spread to the cooking oil. As a result, the tofu production employee belonging to Jaiman (55), a local resident, was in disarray and asked other residents for help.

Firefighters from Team 2 and Post Karangrejo who received reports via WhatsApp telephone from residents went straight to the scene.

Three fire trucks were deployed to extinguish the fire. Officers arrived at the location at around 21.20 WIB and immediately extinguished and wet the burned area.

"After the size up was carried out, the first thing the officers did was wet the surrounding area so that the fire did not spread. "Then the officers extinguished and wet the burned area," said Magetan Damkar Head, Ali Sukamto.

Efforts to extinguish the fire lasted for approximately one hour. The fire was successfully extinguished and there were no fatalities or injuries in this incident.
