batampos – Four semi-permanent houses located behind the Gekari Church RT01/RW01 Kampung Harapan, Harjosari Village, Tebing District caught fire badly, Saturday (17/2) morning.

"Thank God there were no casualties. "Right now the wind is strong," explained Village Head Harjosari Indra to Batam Pos, yesterday.

The semi-permanent houses are Firman Siahaan's house, Sinaga's two units, and Andre's house. The fire started in Firman's house which had two doors and then spread to other houses due to strong winds.

"It just so happened that the house was empty and no one was there. Due to the strong wind it spread to the side of the house. The police are still investigating material losses," he said.
