Vehicle spare parts are to be smuggled via Telagapunggur Roro Harbor

batampos– Batam Customs and Excise carried out a joint operation with Kogabwilhan I at Telaga Punggur Port, Nongsa, Tuesday (19/3).

Information obtained was that during the operation officers intercepted several contraband items. Such as vehicle spare parts and used goods.

"This is a Joint Operation with Kogabwilhan I, the goods have been sent to the Batu Ampar Office and are in the process of being enumerated," said Head of Compliance and Information Services (Kabid BKLI) of Batam Customs and Excise Evi Oktavia.

“Regarding the number and type cannot be stated yet. "Because it is still in the process of being withdrawn from Punggur to be enumerated," he said.

It is known that Roro Telaga Punggur Port is also one of the main routes for goods traffic going in and out of Batam. At this location, BC Batam officers often intercept smuggled goods.

However, BC admitted that it was difficult to monitor goods leaving and entering the port. Because, this area does not have a buffer area. (*)
